Whilst on fieldwork recently I was tasked with downloading spatial coordinate data from a Nikon TS415 Total Station. Turns out it is not as easy as it should be! And the available guides on the internet aren’t particularly helpful either. But, after a few hours I managed finally to get the records off the machine and into an excel spreadsheet. For anyone else who is having similar difficulties, a handy guide to the way I managed to do it in the end • Download the free software “Trimble” from When you run the setup wizard, you will be asked whether you want to install “Mapping and GIS devices” as well as “Land Survey Devices”. You only need to download “Land Survey Devices” (the one that says it is for getting data from survey equipment). • Connect the Total Station to your computer via the serial cable. You will probably need a serial-USB adaptor for this. If so, connect the serial-USB adaptor, and then on your computer under Control Panel>View devices and printers, make sure all the drivers for the serial connector are downloaded and updated. • Then search your control panel for “device manager” and open the PORT settings. Something like “USB port COM4” should be displayed. ![]() • Leave this open on your computer and now go to COMM settings on the Total Station (under Menu>Settings>Comm). • Make sure all the PORT settings on the computer and the COMM settings on the Total station match. • Also set the computer Flow Rate to XOn/XOff. • Close the PORT settings on your computer. • Now, open trimble. • Click Devices>New>Nikon/TS415. • Select port COM4. • Give the total station a name like NIKONTS. Jul 08, 2015 Downloading data from a Nikon Total Station. You will probably need a serial-USB adaptor. Make sure all the drivers for the serial connector. • Trimble should now say that the Total Station is CONNECTED and the green button should be “depressed”. • Now click DEVICES> properties, and check that the settings there match both your PORT COM4 settings on the computer and the COMM settings on the total station. • I had to restart the computer at this point. • Go back into Trimble. • Select Data Collector file(s). • This should now appear in the “name” box. • Under “files of type”: select “Nikon Coord files” • Choose a destination folder • Click Open • Now click “Transfer All” • Navigate on the Total Station to Menu>Comm>Data download • Set the top line to “Nikon” and the lower one to “Coord” • Press ENT and then GO. • You should now see that the data is being transferred from the total station to the computer, as a.csv file. ![]() • Simply navigate to the file (in the destination folder you picked earlier) and open it in excel. Hope that helps you if you are ever in a similar situation!

Steinberg HALion 6 Sound Content [30 GB] March. SampleTank 3 instrument collections Free Download Latest Version r2r for. Loads of weed smoking, velvet. I've always tended to layer sounds on a DAW timeline, but am wanting to jump into the sampler world for some of my work. This way I can come up a palette of basic sounds I create by category, and they 'style' those sounds and build on top of them based on the library I'm working on at the time (I make sounds for several radio imaging libraries and networks). Also, I spend a lot of time just 'messing around' with synths and audio processors in real time, recording the results to a new file. Taking the time to go back and chop through those long files to find useful material gets very old, and the concept of chopping up longer files in a sampler, or setting start and stop play markers for only the bits of audio I respect seems like a no-brainer. For most projects I use Cubase (version 6 is amazing!). HALion is, of course, very compatible, and lets you drag in Cubase regions directly, uses all the Steinberg plugins I'm familiar with, comes with a decent factory library, etc. Very appealing. But, I wanted to see if anyone out there on SSD is using HALion specifically for sound design, and could offer any pros / cons. By the way, I've been reading questions / answers on this site for a few months, but this is my first post. I've learned so much! SSD is now one of my daily addictions (now if I could just cut out smoking and caffeine!). ![]() Here are the instructions on how to disable your ad blocker: Adblock • Click the AdBlock button on the top right of your browser's toolbar and select Don't run on pages on this domain, and then hit Exclude to finish. • Refresh the page to see the result.
